Implementing Automatic Posts for Authors

Socializer enables authors on your site to automatically post to social networks when they create a page using composer. Here's how to go about it.

Author (User) Promotion Settings

User promotion settings can be found at {yoursite.com}/index.php/profile/page_promotion. If the 'profile' page has been moved, the user promotion page should be listed directly under it.

Twitter

Authorizing Twitter

  1. Setup profiles on your concrete5 site. You can find directions for setting up profiles on the concrete5 website.
  2. Go through the 'Authorizing Posts to Twitter' section found in the Implementing Automatic Posts to Social Networks helpdesk article.
  3. Tick the 'Allow authors to post to a Twitter feed' box.

User Profile Setup for Automatic Tweets

  1. Make sure that the user is logged into the Twitter account that they want to automatically post to
  2. Go to the profile/page_promotion page listed above.
  3. Click the 'Twitter' tab/link
  4. Tick the box for 'Allow posting to Twitter'
  5. Click the 'Authorize with Twitter' button
  6. On the Twitter authorization page, click the 'Authorize App' button
  7. The user should be returned to the page promotion page
  8. Tick the box for 'Post to Twitter when a new composer page is added'.
  9. Enter the intro text that will be added at the start of a new tweet, along with a link to the page
  10. Tick the box for 'Add hashtags' if the user wants to add the page's "tags" attribute as hashtags
  11. Click the 'Update my Settings' button

Facebook

Authorizing Facebook

  3. Tick the 'Allow authors to post to a Facebook feed' box.

  3. Tick the box for 'Allow posting to Facebook'
  4. Click the 'Authorize with Facebook' button

  6. The user should be returned to the page promotion page
  7. Tick the box for 'Post to Facebook when a new composer page is added'.
  8. Enter the intro text that will be added at the start of a new post, along with a link to the page
  9. Tick the box for 'Add hashtags' if the user wants to add the page's "tags" attribute as hashtags
  10. Click the 'Update my Settings' button

LinkedIn

Authorizing LinkedIn
